Coaching & Counseling

Independent  coaching in self-management – or alternatively external counseling in self-management - has a number of advantages. First, it provides a high level of neutrality, objectivity and a professional way of securing an external perspective.

The counselor is neutral toward the situation of the client, which guarantees critical feedback. The counselor is of course not unaware of the situation within the respective organization or of the particular situation of the client, but on the other hand the counselor is not handicapped by having a position within the company´s hierarchy. Thus, there can be no confusion about roles. Quite the contrary, the external counselor has the chance to establish a relationship of trust to the company, especially to its top managers. The counselor inherently enjoys a special position of confidence, which can be particularly important if the client is concerned about discretion or if the counseling is taking place without the knowledge of others. This reduces the risk of being stigmatized by having employed a coach or counselor. The counselor also brings along all the experiences and knowledge gained through counseling other firms. This ensures solutions that are either completely new to the organization or that have yet to be implemented. Self-management coaching or counseling is not a type of therapy. Nevertheless, absolute discretion is guaranteed.

Solutions

Individual coaching
Coaching is a form of individual counseling in professional life. Individual coaching addresses concrete matters, going step by step, so that the individual quickly has a feeling of self-confidence and competence.

Team supervision
This form is directed toward the needs of workgroups or teams that function as subsystems within companies or organizations. They usually have common tasks and goals to pursue. Team supervision is oriented toward these specific tasks and goals.

Process counseling
This type of counseling depends on the definition of the problem, the particular goals and the implementation of solution strategies provided by the client. The counselor looks at the situation from the outside and stresses the client´s inherent capacity-building methods by introducing own competence.

Organizational development
Here, we are dealing with the reciprocal influence individuals and organizational structures have on each other. The goal is to effect systematic and planned changes to the structure or culture within an organization.

Intercultural management
An important goal of intercultural management is the fostering of intercultural competence, that is, the ability to solve culturally conditioned problems and misunderstandings arising within intercultural surroundings and to work toward common goals despite cultural differences.

Transformation
When changes occur in corporate structures, they can have a tremendous effect on the satisfaction and thus on the motivation of the employees in that company. Dealing with the emotional reactions to change is a major challenge addressed by transformation.
